Present Continuous

Do you want to talk about what is happening right now? In English, we use the Present Continuous for actions that are happening at the moment of speaking.
What is the Present Continuous?
The Present Continuous is used to talk about actions that are in progress now.
Form:
- Subject + be (am/is/are) + verb + -ing
Examples
- I am reading a book.
- She is talking to her friend.
- We are playing football.
- They are watching TV.
- He is eating pizza.
Negative form
To make a negative sentence in the Present Continuous, add not after am, is, are.
- I am not studying now.
- She is not watching TV.
- We are not playing football.
- They are not listening to music.
Tip: In spoken English, we usually use contractions:
- I’m not…
- She isn’t…
- He isn’t…
- We aren’t…
- They aren’t…
